What We Grow

local vegetablesVegetables:

We grow a mixture of different organic vegetables – from Arugula to Zucchini. During the winter, we comb seed catalogues looking for cool new varieties that our customers will love. Read our whole page devoted to Organic Vegetables.

Nova Scotia flowers Cut-Flowers:

There’s nothing we like better than decorating our home with flower bouquets straight from our garden. They bring the outdoors in…something that benefits the health of anyone who sees them. To learn more about the flowers we grow, visit our Flowers page.

nova scotia melons

No fruit compares to a sweet melon for us. We’ve had customers say they didn’t realize melons like cantaloupe and honeydew could be grown in Canada. We understand… they absolutely have that tropical fruit flavour and aroma. But they can totally be grown here, as long as they’re planted in a really sunny spot. For some reason, our farm’s soil has always done well with growing outstanding-tasting melons.

herbal tea

The 1st few farms Shannon worked on were herb farms…they were what got her into farming. While they make up a small percentage of what we grow, both culinary (or cooking) herbs and medicinal herbs interest us. Culinary herbs we grow include Parsley, Basil, Cilantro, Sage, Thyme, and Dill. Medicinal Herbs include health-boosting Holy Basil, Chamomile, Mountain Mint, and Anise Hyssop which are all great for herbal teas.

New Brunswick basil

We grow these for backyard gardeners and sometimes other small farmers. Tomatoes, Peppers, Basil, Parsley. We grow them for our own farm and we’ve got our favourite varieties, so we grow them for our customers to plant in their gardens or patio planters. Check our our tips for caring for your Tomato seedling.

organic seeds

While we grow seeds primarily for our own farm use, we also sell them to our gardening customers in the spring and early summer. Read more about our Seeds.
